12 Comforting Pasta Dishes for Fall

When it gets dark early and the evenings are chilly, I crave bowls of warm pasta baked lasagna, cheesy noodles, spaghetti and meatballs. There is no better comfort than warming carbs, especially when theyre saucy, twisty, meaty and cheesy exactly what I want to curl up with on the couch in my slouchy socks and PJ pants. Whats On Their Kitchen Floor?

Kitchens are for living in. One of the most well-used rooms in any house, and the heart of the home, a kitchen floor can take a beating. My own 100 year old hardwood floor is constantly trampled by kids and dogs and well used by me a messy cook who writes recipes for a living and its time for something new. To help me decide what to install next, I took a peek into the kitchens of some local food and parenting bloggers, to see what they have, how durable it is, and whether or not they like it.

Its harvest season, which means pears are at their peak plump Anjou, juicy Bartlett, stout Comice, wee Seckel and elegant Bosc pears are overflowing their farmers market bins. 10 Healthy & Homemade Nut-Free Snacks for the Lunchbox

This year I am packing my daughters lunch two days a week and sending her to school with a snack four days a week. Like all parents, when packing her food I do my best to send her with things that are healthy and homemade. I want a balance of protein, fruit, vegetables, and whole grains in her bag whenever possible. Luckily she doesnt have any allergies, but there are lots of kids in her class that do. Therefore we have to pack food that is completely nut-free and preferably even made in a facility that processes nuts. This can be a challenge to people like me who are used to whipping up peanut butter sandwiches on the double. But, there are lots of great nut-free snacks out there if you look around. Here are a few of our favorites!
