When it comes to Christmas gift-giving I like the idea of getting kids involved in making homemade gifts for their friends. It is much more fun and heartfelt than buying things and it gives kids a real chance to get crafty. My daughter is still in preschool but there are still many things she can do for her friends. Whether it is dipping pretzels in chocolate, pressing pulse on the food processor, or rolling up some cake pops get kids having fun and involved in spreading good cheer. Here are a few of our favorite crafts at home. You will LOVE making them with your kids and watching them give them to friends!

Peppermint SugarPeppermint sugar is a simple two-step treat that is perfect for making with kids. Adults operate the food processor and the kids can scoop out the finished sugar into pretty jars. Label them so kids know it can be used as sprinkles or for adding into hot chocolate!

Snowman CrispiesKids will have a blast molding rice krispie treats for their friends. These cute snowmen are the perfect shape for little hands to make and they fit perfectly with the spirit of the season.

Toasted Coconut MarshmallowsMaking marshmallows can be so much fun for kids. Wrap one large square marshmallow in a bag and have the kids make up cool labels to give their friends.
