We eat a lot of seafood. We love it. However, my husband is very sensitive to any residual fishy smells in the kitchen. Recently I started using Hefty Slider bags to marinade seafood instead of another kind of container. The seal on the bags keeps the flavors and scents were they belong in the fish.
Earlier this week I posted a wonderful recipe for marinated shrimp. The recipe includes some fairly strong scents like garlic, ginger and of course fresh shrimp. After whipping up the marinade and placing the shrimp in the Hefty bags, I could even leave the bag on my counter to marinade at room temperature without enduring a strong fish odor. Granted, the marinade helps tone down the smell too but the Hefty bags really sealed in any lingering odors. When youre done you can simply throw away the bag and avoid an extra pan or container to clean.
