Learning doesnt just happen at school, you know! There are all sorts of lessons your kids learn by watching you, listening to you, and becoming familiar with the home environment youve provided. School wont teach kids how to set out a healthy breakfast in the morning, for instance. Thats the sort of thing kids learn from home. They wake up, see what youve laid out for mealtime, and learn what a proper meal looks like. So many important lessons happen this way. With just a few words. Almost without trying. Kids pick up on their routines and habits by feeling their way about the home environment parents are providing.
One of the ways Ive tried to utilize our home environment to teach my kids about whats important, to help them get in a good routine, is to keep a colorful tray in their bathroom, which is always prepped with clean toothbrushes (decorated in their favorite cartoon characters), kid-friendly flossers, and a bottle of LISTERINE SMART RINSE.
By keeping an easy-to-access tray ready in the bathroom, I know my kids will have quick access to all the items they need for proper tooth care. Proper rinsing should happen twice daily, once in the morning and once at night, but life can get so busy its easy to forget to remind the kids to keep up their toothcare regime. So, putting the tray full of prepped items really helps the kids have a visual reminder (and a fun, colorful reminder!) of their everyday tooth chores.
Why is it so important to have kids not just brush but floss and rinse? First because helping your kids get in the habit of good oral care now makes keeping that habit into adulthood thismuch easier! Second, rinsing twice daily (for a full minute each time) with LISTERINE Smart Rinse actually attracts some of the particles that brushing can leave behind, while also providing 12-hour cavity protection.
Go grab a pretty tray and toss your toothcare items on top of it for your kiddos bathroom routine, then spend a few minutes with them learning more about proper oral care at Listerine Kids.
